Het standaardgewicht van deze stukken was 48 per pond avoirdupois (1/3 ounce of 145,8 grains).

Er zijn veel voor- en keerzijdevariëteiten voor dit type, hieronder volgt een selectie:

Sp#3954 (1860-1894) geen muntteken op achterkant;
Sp#3955 (1874/5/6, 1881/2) 'H' muntteken op achterkant onder datum, geslagen bij Ralph Heaton & Sons, Birmingham.

In 1874 is het tweede portret heel licht gewijzigd. In KM#749 staat de D:G: dichter bij het hoofd van de koningin.
Let dus goed op als je een 1874 hebt voor het geval het KM#755 is.

KM#749.1 (alleen 1860) Kralenrand, zonder matrijsnummer;
KM#749.2 (1860-1874) Getande rand, zonder matrijsnummer;
KM#749.3 (alleen 1863) Getande rand, met matrijsnummer onder de datum;

There are many obverse and reverse varieties for this type, following is a selection of them:

Sp#3954 (1860-1894) no mintmark on reverse;
Sp#3955 (1874/5/6, 1881/2) 'H' mintmark on reverse below date, struck at Ralph Heaton & Sons, Birmingham.

In 1874, the second portrait was very slightly changed. In KM#749, the D:G: is closer to the Queen's head.
So take care if you have an 1874 in case it is KM#755.

KM#749.1 (1860 only) Beaded border, without die number;
KM#749.2 (1860-1874) Toothed border, without die number;
KM#749.3 (1863 only) Toothed border, with die number below date;
